On the About Us page: “L’Association humaniste du Québec réunit ceux et celles qui placent l’être humain devant toute croyance ou idéologie.
Il s’agit d’un organisme de charité reconnu, à but non lucratif, qui fait la promotion de la pensée critique et des valeurs humanistes, dont la laïcité figure au premier plan. C’est aussi un foyer qui accueille chaleureusement tous ceux et celles dont la vision du monde ne comprend pas d’éléments supranaturels ou mystiques. Cette grande famille rassemble une surprenante variété d’individus d’orientations diverses, de droite ou de gauche, autoritaires ou libertaires qui tous se sentent solidaires pour défendre leur vision naturaliste de l’univers.
L’Association qui représente la communauté humaniste, a la structure d’une association démocratique classique ou chaque membre a un vote.
Les membres ont accès en tout temps par Internet aux procès verbaux des assemblées générales et réunions de leur conseil d’administration, aux mises à jour mensuelles de leurs bilans et états des résultats d’exploitation ainsi qu’à divers autres rapports pour leur permettre d’examiner toutes leurs opérations avec la plus grande transparence.
En 2019 l’Association comptait 235 membres en règle et plus de 3000 personnes sont abonnées à sa page Facebook.
