TEDx Stanley Park: Physician-assisted Dying

by | April 17, 2015

On May 23rd there will be a unique opportunity to hear BC Civil Liberties Association’s Grace Pastine speak about the Carter v. Canada case.  The folks over at BCCLA sent me an email which I’m passing along to Canadian Atheist readers now:

Our Litigation Director Grace Pastine, one of the main drivers of the Carter v. Canada Supreme Court victory on physician-assisted dying, will be speaking on May 23rd at TEDxStanleyPark about this historic case and what it means for the rights of seriously and incurably Canadians. In the spirit of TEDx’s showcasing of “ideas worth spreading,” we ask that you consider passing along the following details:

The TEDxStanleyPark 2015 event (www.tedxstanleypark.com) will take place from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Granville Island Stage located on Granville Island, Vancouver. 14 speakers will share their talks with a live audience of 450, an online audience of thousands and, we hope, a video audience of millions.

To hear Grace’s talk, people have three options:

  1. They can attend the event in person; they can buy a ticket online at https://www.tedxstanleypark.com/event/tedx-stanley-park/

  2. They can attend the event live, in real time, online and for free by logging in to the webcast: https://www.tedxstanleypark.com/livestream/

  3. They can wait a few weeks and view Grace’s video free when it is uploaded to TED’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TEDxTalks
