Today, Canadian Atheist’s friend and fellow member of the Canadian blogosphere submitted his thousandth post to his blog, the aptly named My Secret Atheist Blog. A while ago, the previously pseudonymous author, Godless Poutine, started using his real name: Sean McGuire.
Who is Sean McGuire? Sean
holds a BSc. in Computer Science and a BA in Classical Literature and Languages. He was born into a religious household and indoctrinated into a sect/branch of fundamentalist Roman Catholicism known as the Society of St. Pius X.
He found his way to atheism via explorations of Wicca, Neo-Paganism, Neo-Platonism, and Secular Humanism. . . . [Sean] lives and works in Montreal, QC, Canada.
Sean is also a tireless supporter of the Kasese Humanist Primary School in Uganda:
Sean believes that atheists and agnostics should make a difference in the world, and he highlights the efforts of those who are making a difference.
Sean is a serious Doctor Who fan, so it is fitting that “The Doctor Comes Out Atheist Tonight?” is My Secret Atheist Blog’s post number 1001.
You can follow Sean on Twitter at @GodlessPoutine to get up to date info on his daily posts.
I’m so excited for the Doctor Who tonight! The atheist stuff will be interesting as the
First Doctor:
#1 told Galileo Galilei that he was an agnostic and fully expected to be an atheist by the end of his travels — are these the end then?
#7 said he “abjured religion”
#9 complains that humanity likes to believe in invisible things
I had no idea that William Hartnell’s Doctor said that. Wow, truly a show ahead of its time.
… or behind its time, or in the middle of it, or moving around the edges of it… hard to say what with time being so wibbly-wobbly and all.
Ha! Nice one!
Thanks Veronica for this nice post!
You are welcome!
