Google Doodle June 16

by | June 16, 2014

The World Cup 2014 Google Doodle for June 16, 2014 is an animated (partial) alphabet:

Mexican Wave

There is no B, H, I, K, W, X, Y or Z. There are, of course, two Gs and two Os.

Please help. What is the significance of today’s World Cup Google Doodle?

I think they’re just doing the wave. Except for “l” who is reading a book and always misses the cue to stand up on time. If you click it, you get World Cup search results.

There is a z, and a y. Otherwise I can’t figure out the significance of the letters that were used/omitted.
